DULUTH, MINN. - After impressive seasons, Shattuck-St. Mary’s Girls Soccer alumni and current St. Scholastica Saints Morgan Friday '17 and Hunter Zamzow '19 received postseason awards from the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) on Monday, Nov. 11.
For the second year in a row, Friday received the Offensive Player of the Year award. In her sophomore season, Friday held the top spot in goals (19), points (43), shots per game (9.75), and shots on goal per game (5.28). Combined with her solid rookie season stats, Friday now leads NCAA Division III in overall points (39) and is third in points (63).
An impressive freshman season for Hunter Zamzow garnered her Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors in the UMAC. Zamzow, who grew up in Duluth, helped the Saints not give up a single goal during conference play in the regular season - a first for the Saints program.
