UNIONDALE, NEW YORK – Monday, October 14th was just another day for most, but for former Shattuck-St. Mary’s forward Oliver Wahlstrom it was one he will remember forever.
In front of thousands, the Quincy, Massachusetts native took the ice at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum as he made his NHL debut with the New York Islanders, the team which selected him 11th in the 2018 entry draft. Wahlstrom logged just over 15 minutes of ice team in the game and had two shots on goal.
"I thought he was really good," Head Coach Barry Trotz said to the media. "I thought he was really effective. I thought for his first game he didn't look out of place at all.”
