Teddy Blueger ‘12 Makes NHL Debut with Penguins

FARIBAULT, MINN. - After making noise in the American Hockey League (AHL), former Shattuck-St. Mary’s forward Teddy Blueger ‘12 received the call-up to the Pittsburgh Penguins and made his NHL debut on Wednesday, Jan. 30.

Blueger, who was drafted by the Penguins in 2012, wasted no time showing he has what it takes to be at the top level. In his second and third games over the weekend, he scored a goal in each.

“Teddy was such a dedicated played to improving his game - understanding all aspects of situational play, faceoffs, penalty kill, power play and offensive, defensive and neutral zone systems. He cares about all aspects of the game and that is what will make him a valuable player for the Penguins,” said Blueger’s former coach, Des Christopher.
