Golf COE Starts Season with Wins

FARIBAULT, MINN. - The Golf Center of Excellence took no time getting into the "swing" of things this past weekend at their first tournament of the season. Through slightly chilly conditions and a burst of rain, the Sabres took home four trophies at the Minneapolis Junior Open held at the Legacy Golf Course in Faribault, Minn.

In the Boys 16-18 Division, Owen Mullen '21 and Ben Callaghan '20 took first and second place respectively. Mullen captured first place with scores of 64-69. He also broke the competitive course record at the Legacy Golf Course with a round one score of -8. Callaghan tied for second place with scores of 73-73.

Brady Thomas '22 found success in the Boys 14-15 Division as he tied for third with scores of 75-88 on the weekend. Ananda Zhai '22 finished second in the Girls 14-18 Division with scores of 74-77.

The Sabres will travel to Sarasota, Fla. next weekend for their second tournament of the season at The Ritz-Carlton Members Club.
