Sam Schroeder Announced as Girls U17DA Head Coach

FARIBAULT, MINN. - Shattuck-St. Mary’s Girls Soccer Center of Excellence has announced Sam Schroeder as the head coach of the Girls U17DA team.

A native of Monticello, Minn., Sam Schroeder comes to SSM after serving as assistant coach for Indiana State University. Prior to his time with the Sycamores, Coach Schroeder was the head coach at Ripon College in Wisconsin where, in his five years, he was responsible for the most successful period in the history of the Ripon’s women’s soccer program.

In addition to his college coaching, Coach Schroeder brings experience in youth development having coached for North Shore United, one of Wisconsin’s strongest club programs. He also worked with Appleton SC and has extensive experience with the Wisconsin Olympic Development program.

“Sam is one of the first individuals I thought to contact when we started our search for Coach King’s replacement because he has such a strong connection to Minnesota and to the SSM community. That combined with his passion for the game of soccer, for teaching, and for people in general made him an ideal candidate to join our coaching staff. Sam will provide us with an outstanding combination of expertise and community involvement to help the program grow and improve,” stated Director of Girls Soccer Joe DeMay.

Coach Schroeder will begin working with the team immediately. His wife and two children will remain in Indiana until the school year ends and then join the SSM community in June.
