Saturday’s first home game against Crew ended 3-0 in favor of the visitors, who now occupy the top spot in the league. While SSM showed moments of great soccer and fought through 90 minutes, they struggled to find the back of the net and fell to three strong finishes from the opponents. On Sunday, the Sabres bounced back, regardless of the rainy weather conditions, with a 3-0 win against Internationals. Demitrius Kigeya '18 opened the scoring for Shattuck after dribbling the keeper and slotting the ball calmly into an open net just before half. In the second half, Frankie Ljucovic '18 and Michael Vang '18 helped to clinch the win for SSM with clinical finishes resulting from great team play.
The Sabres will continue their homestand on Oct. 14 and 15 against Indiana Fire and Chicago Fire as part of Fall Family Weekend.
