FARIBAULT, MINN - Shattuck-St. Mary’s Boys U17DA midfielder Danny Flores ‘20 has been named to the Central Conference Best XI by the U.S. Soccer Boys Development Academy.
Flores was one of three midfielders given the honor in the Central Conference, which consists of more than 20 teams.
“The growth of Danny over his two years here at SSM extends not only to soccer but to each aspect of his life. I do think this is why he has been named to the Best XI in our conference – because he has humbly gone about seeking to get better. He has had support on his journey and has humbly accepted it as he’s kept working to improve, even though the path has seen its share of dips and bumps along the way. This is witnessed in the multiple call ups into national team camps this year; he continues to learn to make the most of the situation. From a soccer perspective, one of my lasting memories of this past season will be his performance in the playoffs. Playing up two, and in some cases, three years, he was the best player on the field. This award isn’t about being recognized for talent; it is about continued preparation for the challenge,” said Director of Boys Soccer Sean Bushey.
