The Shattuck-St. Mary's Girls Development Academy has announced its prospect Identification dates for the 2018-2019 season. As a founding member of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, SSM will offer these multiple dates throughout the year to players interested for selection to its full-time residential academy program in each of its age groups.

The traditional summer tryout model for player selection will not be used for the DA, instead, players will be invited through a combination of scouting and participation in the established Player Identification events. The purpose behind the visit dates rather than a traditional tryout model allows prospective student-athletes to immerse themselves in the SSM way. Prospects will meet with admissions and financial aid counselors, shadow a current SSM player to classes, participate in training with our DA teams and interact with our coaching staff. This provides players, parents and coaches with the most authentic experience possible.

U.S. Soccer initiated the Development Academy program to provide a truly elite level platform that provides for the education, support, and resources that allow clubs to produce world-class soccer players. The DA strives to improve the quality of coaching available to players, create a strong connection to our youth national teams, provide proper training to game ratios and establish a consistent, competitive environment in which player development is the centerpiece.
