FARIBAULT, MINN. - After impressive performances in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Oshawa Generals, former Sabre Jeremy Brodeur has signed with the ECHL’s Allen Americans. The following statement was released by the Allen Americans.
The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, and Globe Life are proud to announce the signing of goalie Jeremy Brodeur to a contract.
Jeremy Brodeur is set to begin his rookie season of professional hockey. He played his junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League with the Oshawa Generals for three seasons. He put up solid numbers that included six shutouts during the 2015-2016 season with Oshawa. He had a record of 33-14-2 last season.
”I’m really excited to come to Allen,” said Jeremy Brodeur. “I’ve heard nothing but great things about the Allen Americans and the organization. I’ve been preparing for this opportunity since the end of last season.”
Born in Essex Fells, New Jersey, the 6-1, 190-pound netminder will turn 21 years old this Sunday. He is the son of 4-time Vezina Trophy winner, and former New Jersey Devils great, Martin Brodeur.
